This week Silver Dollar City revealed their revolutionary new ride—the world’s tallest, fastest, and steepest spinning coaster. Time Traveler is the first Xtreme Spinning Coaster from Mack Rides, meaning it will be able to complete inversions and launches not found on a traditional spinning coaster.

We’ve been tracking the coaster’s construction for some time now, but now we finally know all the full details.

Time Traveler will begin with a 10-story vertical drop out of the station, plunging into the action and closely following the mountainous terrain. Riders will experience three inversions—a dive loop, a vertical loop, and a zero-g roll—all while spinning. Reaching a top speed of 50.3 miles per hour, the ride will also feature two launches.

As a $26 million dollar investment, Time Traveler will be Silver Dollar City’s biggest attraction ever in the park’s 57-year history.

Watch the ride in action below:

What do you think about Time Traveler? I’m blown away by the design, and the ride goes way beyond what I expected. Time Traveler will be one unique coaster when it opens next spring.

Very nice concept, sort of a terra-spinning hybrid. Except for the low capacity, the integration with the land and theme components really impresses me. I really like the color scheme which blends into the land. This is the result of someone that values the setting it will be in and took the time to design a hand-in-glove complement to what was already there. Something like this will be hard to duplicate elsewhere!
