Remember all those rumors pointing towards Mean Streak getting the RMC treatment? Turns out, they’re likely all true.
Today, Cedar Point made the announcement that their meanest coaster will be “getting the axe” on September 16th.
This is likely “part 1” of two announcements leading up to the park’s plan for 2017, similar to the transformation of Mantis two years ago. After everyone gets their last rides on the coaster, Cedar Point will reveal their full plan and begin construction immediately.
What to expect
Mean Streak will likely become taller, faster, and steeper post-conversion. Expect new, comfortable trains, a bright color scheme, and a new name – maybe Iron Streak, or Meaner Streak? I’m more excited for this coaster than any other I’ve anticipated. As I’ve said before, this kind of ride would improve Cedar Point’s lineup, open up the back of the park, and would drastically improve their existing wooden coaster. What do you think?
