For our final edition of POV Thursday, let’s take a virtual ride on Goliath at Six Flags Great America, a high-speed IBox coaster designed by Rocky Mountain Construction.
Goliath is a sort of hybrid coaster, in the sense that its supports are wooden and its track is steel. This allows for a traditional wooden coaster feel but with incredible inversions only possible with steel track.
The ride starts with a climb 165 feet in the air and an 85 degree plunge. Reaching a top speed of 72 miles per hour, the train then navigates two insane inversions and two tunnels.
