Back in September, Universal Orlando announced that the Incredible Hulk Coaster at Islands of Adventure would be temporarily closing to return next summer with “new enhancements to its storyline, ride vehicles and overall experience.”
Although they haven’t announced any details on what exactly will be changing, Universal has proceeded to deconstruct the coaster’s track and supports, leading many to think that the track will be replaced. Whether or not the original layout will be retained remains to be seen.
B&M, a roller coaster manufacturer famous for its smooth rides, will likely be involved in the building of the new experience, providing the coaster with fresh track and redesigning the trains (the new restraints will probably be the rubber vests found on wing coasters). I’d be surprised, but they might even transform the Hulk into a launched wing coaster like Thunderbird.
In addition to these new features, the Hulk will get an improved launch mechanism and a brand new on-board audio system.
Will you be excited to see the Incredible Hulk Coaster arrive with a new experience next year? What kind of features would you like to see as part of the renovation process? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.
